SO, I’m sure a lot of you know about the NSFW de-indexing/shadowbans, of which OPP has been affected.
I will officially say that this absolutely sucks, and is clearly the early phases of a bunch of fantatics seeking to ban nsfw in all its form however they can. Whether or not you support what does end up being banned, no company should hold the power to cut off purchasing power for whatever arbitrary reason they come up with (unless illegal). You should see plenty of posts floating around advising how to (politely) hassle these companies, and maybe we can roll this nonsense back.
Now, where does this leave OPP?
Itch’s new restrictions are vague, and leave themselves open to bow at the whim of the payment processors. So, no NSFW content is safe. BUT, if they follow how Steam took a knee, they’re going after “more extreme” nsfw first, of which OPP has none of. With luck, OPP qualifies for eventually being un-shadowbanned. But when that happens, and IF it will happen is very nebulous.
In the meantime, in case the worst happens and OPP is deleted, I have paused accepting donations. It’s unclear if I will receive the generous donations you all have already given OPP (still in processing review), and I don’t want things to get even more muddled, should the worst happen. Please save your money for now. And again, thank you so much for all the support you’ve given the game thus far!
Adding the game to Steam was always part of the plan. I have started the process of making a page, to kind of hedge my bets in case itch completely collapses but Steam holds out a little longer. Original plans were for the first 3 weeks of the game to be free demo, and weeks 4 and 5 to be paid, but that too is in flux. Going to play things by ear in the upcoming weeks/months.
One way or another, I hope to release Week 3 pretty soon, and hope you all enjoy.

Hello, if you want to add game to Steam, please also think of us Germans please. <3 We cannot buy adult games on Steam store since 2020. So we either need Steam keys or another platform.
If you all have not already signed it, there is currently a change.org petition to push back on Mastercard and Visa over this fiasco. It is not terribly difficult to find it but I will not be posting a direct link since posting links is generally frowned upon. I implore you all to sign it and get anyone else who was affected to sign it too.

Hey there, man. I know things seem ridiculous right now due to what Collective Shout did, but I am starting to wonder what they did to cause this is legal or not. Now, I'm no lawyer, but maybe you should talk to a lawyer about this and explain what transpired, but don't leave ANYTHING out. Give them as much information that you can gather and ask if what has happened is legal or not.
I know it sounds crazy, but getting a third party involved might be a good idea in the long run.
I’m part timing as an indie solo dev who’s going to ask for 3$ per game. Lawsuit is not an option. Our best shots are pestering Visa and Mastercard until they cave, and big organizations like ACLU who can fight on our behalf.
It's a really scary time to be developing porn games, I only just started picking up the pace on my own gamedev and like a week later this all happened 😪 That said, I can't wait to see a steam page for this, it'll be cool to follow it there! Provided TF content stays somewhat safe we might be able to weather this storm but also god I hope this all just gets undone, payment processors should not be motivated by profit and should not be able to just decide what they do and don't allow on a whim
Indeed. Rough times for nsfw creators. I figure, either both itch and Steam get salvaged, or neither of them do. If the latter, I hope Steam is at least big enough to take longer to sink. I’m calling payment providers to annoy the crap out of them. Hopefully they see reason (or at least realize there are more of us than those nutjobs who instigated this)

However, since I'm one of the people affected by Steam's region lock on NSFW things, I was wondering if there'll be alternatives for getting the game if the worst case comes true?

What do you mean? The fact that they managed to do this at all means they’re going to push further and further. They can do a lot. It’s a question of if we can push back harder.
well there are protections like i said in another comment earlier that protects stuff like this game and other stuff from issues like what going on currently like what the usa has these people can try to destroy the things they are against but messing with other countries that has laws and protection against actions like this can cause things to back fire on them which is already happening also i'm trying to not be to direct on here about it since the topic is total chaos. Also steam is still a safe space for a game like this one
For now, yes but don't get comfortable, even if they actually can't do shit. If you show contempt and let it brew they will somehow break the law, politicians are suckers for screamers and will change whatever law is necessary to make it happen. The insecurity everyone is feeling right now should never have come at all.

Well, I intend to release on both itch and Steam if possible. I haven’t worked out a third option yet.
I'm glad Japan seems to be fighting back and the ACLU has a petition that's about to reach it's goal to fight for a similar cause. I hope things start to get better soon.
Yeah; fingers crossed the ACLU gets traction. They’re about the only petition group I’ve seen make a difference.
This whole situation is dumb and really hoping it gets reversed.

I'd recommend making a discord server for this game it's where I initially got the news from the other game devs that had their stuff shadow banned or deleted, wish you the best of luck dude!

Tell me about it, they've banned most adult sites in the UK so I can't access things like r34 anymore. Although the petition has reached over 200k signatures.
It's always fun when you get to see other countries reenact the idiocy of the Prohibition in real time. I am not saying it's fun seeing people's livelihoods wrecked and other people being cut off from safe ways to explore their kinks and fetishes but... well the similarities are uncanny.
Still, I do hope this stuff doesn't last long.

Wish I could help on the payment processors front, but I'm not in the right country for that. Hopefully that BS will be reverted soon.

Pretty sure you may've heard about it by this point, but there's an archival site that was set up two days ago for working NSFW links on Itch. Added OPP and the rest of my extensive collection already, last I checked there were just under 2000 links posted. Site is called loop-io.dev for those interested.

Itch collects the money in a pile and you have to request for it to be sent, and that process takes 2 weeks to “review” before sent. It’s mid review right now, so, we will see.
